Cecil Lake Christian Fellowship is a community of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Bible alone, and the Bible in its entirety, is the written word of God and, therefore, inerrant in the autographs and absolutely authoritative.
(Matt. 5:18; John 10:35; 2 Tim. 3: 16,17; 2 Peter 1:18-21)
We believe that there is but one living and true God, the Creator, Preserver and Governor of all things, Who is Spirit infinite in being, and in all perfections. We further believe that the one God exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: all three having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, but each executing distinct, but harmonious operations in the work of creation and redemption.
(Deut. 6:4; 1 Cor. 8:4; Gen. 1:1; Heb. 11:3; Neh. 9:6; 1 Peter1:1-2; Eph. 2:18; Jude 20, 21; 1 Cor.21:10-16; John 10:30,38; Matt. 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 9:14; Psalms 139:6-18)
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, in His incarnation, united to His divine nature a true human nature, and so continues to be both God and man, in two distinct natures, but one Person forever. He was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, perfectly obeyed the Law of God, poured out His blood on the cross as a victorious atonement for sin, and rose again bodily on the third day for justification, He ascended to the Father's right hand where He now lives to make intercession for His redeemed.
(John 1:1-3,14-18; Phil. 2:6-14; 1John 1:1-3; 1 John 4:1-3; Rom. 8:3; Col. 2:9; Heb. 2:9; Matt. 1:18-25; Matt. 3:15; John 8:46; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 7:26; Isaiah 53:4;-6; Rom. 3:24-26; Gal. 3:13; Rom. 8:34; Rom. 4:25; 1 Cor. 4:20; Acts 1:9-11; Heb. 1:3; Heb. 4:14; Heb. 7:25; Heb. 8:1; 1 Cor. 15: 2-8)
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and in consequence, incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God, bringing sin, guilt, depravity, and death upon all posterity except the virgin-born Lord Jesus Christ.
(Gen. 1:26,27; Gen. 2:7; Gen. 2:17; Gen. 3:6-24; Gen. 5:1-2; 1 Cor. 15:21-22; Rom. 3:9-23; Eph. 2:1-3)
We believe that God in His mercy and grace saves all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ, justifying them through faith in the Saviour and giving them new life by the Holy Spirit. God further wills that all such should grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. True believers are kept by the power of God, so that none is lost; but the idea that this secure position in Christ entitles one to sin with impunity is false and pernicious.
(Eph. 1:3-14; Ehp. 2:4-10; Titus 3:4-7; Acts 2:28; Acts 16:31; Rom. 3:22-26; Rom. 4:5; Rom. 5:1; John 3:3,16; John 5:24; 2 Peter 3:18; John 17:12,17; 2 Cor. 3:18; John 6:37-40; John 10:28; Rom. 5:9,10; Rom. 8:1,30,38,39; Phil. 1:6; 1 Peter 1:4.5; 1 John 2:19; Rom. 6:1-6; Col. 1:21-23; Heb. 3:14; John 15:6; 1 John 3:4-10)
We believe that, at a day and hour known only to God, our Lord Jesus Christ shall come again personally, bodily, visibly, and gloriously to establish His Kingdom of Righteousness and peace. We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust, and in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the eternal punishment of the unjust.
(Mark 13:32; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:27,30,36-39; 1 Thes. 4:13;-18; Titus 2:13; John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15; Matt. 25:46; John 3:36; Rev. 20:11-15)
We believe that Jesus sanctioned and commanded water Baptism. We believe that the form or mode is not to be an issue. Of significance, is the personal faith and commitment of the person requesting Baptism.
(Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:15-16, Romans 6)
